I'll have to try that... with kids toys (possible Nora joke was here) we burn through a lot of battery's sounds like a good solution to the problem.

from what I've heard they don't last anywhere near as long as the cheapest batteries you can buy, they are not true AA batteries, and they don't actually have the same voltage

Here's a tip to save money on batteries, go to your local electrical supply store, not a super chain or anything, just a run of the mill electrical supply store one that sells supplies to the electricians. You can save about 2/3 on a box of batteries! My husband works in one and a box 24 of AA's is not even $7.
