Question what computer do you reccomend?

I have always had some problems with this pc, as some of you know. From not saving files to too many programs running at the same time(which it still does) Now it's freezing up every 5 or so minutes, or not letting me on the internet at all. It wouldn't be such a big deal if I wasn't taking school online, but since I am- I need to have it running right. I want your opinions on what computer I should get.... It's going to be hooked up to 2GBs (or whatever it is) and DSL, at least for now til I get fiber. So any ideas???

*and yes max when I get this one I will buy microsoft word with it.*

Re: what computer do you reccomend?

Those aren't hardware issues - they are software.

Meaning - you don't necessarily need a new computer (unless you really want to spend money).

Re-installing windows and starting from scratch should fix all your problems.

Re: what computer do you reccomend?

What version of Windows are you running?

What are you running for antivirus?

right click on my computer and click properties, just over half way down on the screen that pops up it'll tell you what kind of processor and Ram you have. Post that info here

How big is your hard drive?

Like Chump said all your problems sound like software issues, but there could also be a simple hardware fix as well.

Re: what computer do you reccomend?

well your first problem is it is a HP

seriously you need to add more Ram, 256 is so not enough, I would suggest at least 1 GB of Ram

I think you mean norton antivirus, Personally I would remove it and install AVG as norton uses alot of system resources.

You do both of those things and you'll be running alot faster

Uhmm - you will have the same issue if you go buy a new PC.

Just burn your stuff to CDs or DVDs.

Your PC is plenty fast - all it needs is more RAM. (easy to install too).

RAM and a format / reinstall of windows and you are laughin. No need to buy a new PC AT ALL.

Re: what computer do you reccomend?

There is nothing wrong with HP... The problem is all the extra shit the include.. if you want a machine that doesn't have all the extra shit, buy a non OEM copy of XP professional with latest service pack already slipstreamed into it.

I've been running the same DELL GX260 workstation for 5 years, and I haven't had any of the shit to deal with that half of you guys have been dealing with with your computers...

Don't forget to install and run Windows Defender - if you aren't already.
