Question Help!!!!

So yesterday I was at work and was on the internet.........no....not looking at porn.......when I went somewhere and I can't really remember where and all of the sudden things went haywire on my PC and the next thing I know my home page changed, I now have a new toolbar, and this damn alert keeps popping up that says "System Alert!"

I also get this pop up when I log on to the internet that says

Windows Internet Explorer

WARNING!

Site address here........I don't want to type it in because I fear that everyone else may get the virus I have.

it says that this site address is a virus that infects files with .exe extentions

type: Virus
infection length: 138,293

What should I do to get this crap off of here?

Re: Help!!!!

you have a trojan dude! and not the good kind

you will need to run hijackthis

just search for it using mortysweb and download and install it

when you run it pick the option to create a log and then post the log on here and I'll tell you what to clean off

Re: Help!!!!

Start by installing and running Windows Defender:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

... then .. if you have no antivirus installed (which it sounds like) .. install AVG Free:

I agree 150% with that...I've had both running on my PC's and the last virus I got was about 4 years ago before I had both running, (not sure how recent Windows Defender is, but I didn't have it back then).

Between the two of them though, there's very little gets through, if anything.
