digital camera problems

I bought a pentax Optio A10 which has built in shake reduce, tracking AF (wtf?), 2.5 lcd, movie mode for mpeg-4, 8.0 megapixels, 3x optical zoom- plus battery charger stand and a lithium battery-
downloaded all the crap, but when i try to acquire pictures it wont do it. Does anyone else have this camera or have any idea what could be wrong?
all help will be appreciated.

I don't have one of them...but someone please help Layni out if it means we're gonna get pictures.

how are you trying to aquire the pics? Are you going through scanners and cameras or are you just browsing to the pics? Can you take the memory card out of the camera and just read the pics directly off of it onto your computer?

Ya. What Max said. Need to understand how the media is connecting to the PC.

And if you have windows XP, your PC should recognize it if you are connecting a USB from the PC to the Camera. And if that's the case, you should be able to look at your camera as if it were a harddrive via My Computer.

I got it figured out, actually quite simple- to load pics off my camera the battery in it can't be dead
