no like when you buy slippers they have no preferance untill you wear them then they take on left or right but say if every time you put them on you switch feet then in therory wouldn't they just go both ways?

Okay, now I'm following your question. I think we needed a bit of background on your question there.

You're orignal question made us all think of sneakers or any other standard shoe that has arch support on the inward side of the shoe with the typical widening of the front of the shoe allowing more room for the toes to span and giving a deeper length for the big toe. Thus making it very uncomfortable to flip the shoes to opposite feet.

Unless you are flat footed. Then I guess only the toe space would be an issue because you would most likely get shoes without any arch support.
