we have Zonealarm, but I'm not sure if that's why it's you know messin it up!

ZONEALARM SUCKS!

That's most likely your issue Dee. You can RIGHT CLICK on it down by the clock and "exit" or turn it off or whatever and test things out. It will come back on the next time your reboot.

Turn it off and see if everything works or not.

I'm guessing its a combination of things that ZoneAlarm did. While ZoneAlarm is off, you probably need to go reset your security setting level like Max pointed out a few posts ago here.
