The first thing that came to mind was port forwarding, but then I realized you'd have to connect the psp or w/e to a computer.... erm... lemme take a look, I've hooked up many networks before so there is a chance I'll remember something

ok I haven't worked with wireless much, but assuming you're using a linksys router with your modem and there isn't an extra security level then you can try disabling the block WAN internet requests, but that will let anyone access your computer, and to prevent that then just filter out all IPs other than the ones you are using

Morty, connect into your router and change the encryption to 28 character then it'll work fine

As for Scabby, the DS is supposed to automatically connect to any hotspot it can find so it really shouldn't be that hard, that being said if you connect into your router you should be able to find out what ip address the DS has pulled, then in your router setup allow that IP full incomming and outgoing access. Down and dirty but should work fine

My router requires things to have MAC addresses too for security reasons I believe and my PSP has nowhere to enter a MAC address.

you wouldn't enter the MAC address into the PSP it already has one, you just have to find out what it is

Thanks Max. I got it working now. It was a combination of my stupidity mainly I think. But I got everything setup but it will only let me use my wireless network when I put my SSID in broadcast mode. Which is fine. I just wanted to see it work. Never plan to actually use it.

Would of helped if I noticed teh WLAN switch on the side of the PSP. I think that had a huge part to do with my problems. There's a damn physical toggle switch. Oh well. It works.

Most laptops have a physical switch these days too. I set one up yesterday and had to do that.
