windows password encryption?

I need to password encrypt some files in windows XP and I can't archive them as zip or rar... I used to know how to do this and I thought it had something to do with a briefcase file but I have no idea how I did it before

It just occurred to me that I should probably start posting my tech problems on neoseeker.com ...
