So the date has been set for the surgery; July 13th will be the date. The advice was that if the surgery had been performed within the first 6 months of the problem, there would be a 90% chance that the recovery would be complete. After the 6 months, the chances of recovery is 85%. The surgeon believes he can do some good so has advised me to pursue the surgery, since the cortisone didn't work. He thinks that although the problem will not be 100% solved, it will improve the situation to the point where I shall not be in the type of pain I am in at the moment. Lately I have heard of people having several goes at the surgery--which makes me wonder.
