Been to long since my last ramble. Times been flying by for me. Pretty much been on vacation for over a week now and I've been busy in the forum, just didn't get around to rambling. Oh well.
But here am now Bitch! Get over it.
So let's bring you all up to speed.
April 21st, my boss, now x-boss, called me in to talk about me quitting since I gave my 2 weeks notice the Friday prior. I was expecting a bashing like the asshole has been giving to everyone else that has quit this year. Made sure I was mentally ready and sat down.
First question he asks me is where I'm going to. I tell him and he tells me what a great company they are and they do very well. And I'm like WTF? Postiive remarks?
2nd question is about the important info for the company website that myself and Fatwillie created for them. I tell him I already typed it all up and gave it to one of the other guys in the office. He grins and says good and thank you. Still I'm looking at him like "WTF??? Still postive comments??"
And then he goes on to try and sneak a fast one by me and says that I have 7.5 days of vacation left and to clear up payroll, tomorrow will be my last day. Which is bullshit because they can't let me go earlier than my 2 weeks notice. I could leave if I want, but they can't let me go early by law from my understanding. But instead of sitting around that boring ass office and going nuts everyday, I agree and the meeting is over.
Next day I clear my laptop out. Empty my cell phone. Make sure the truck is clear of all my personal stuff and at about 11:45 AM, I walk into his office, put all my shit on his desk and say goodbye. He says to me "You're leaving already?" and I like at him and smile saying " Point 5 (.5) of a day." And he looks back at me with nothing to say other than shaking my hand and saying good luck.
Walk out the front door of the office trying not to smile so much that my cheeks rip my skin off my jaw. I was a happy man. No longer in the spiraling shit hole. For the few people that remain there that I liked, I hope for their sake that management gets their shit together and the company stays afloat. Other than that, I could give a rat's ass.
Ahhh, vacation. Been really lazy but been taking care of some things too around the house. Went to the Long Beach Aquarium the other day. Place is alright. Not as big as I had hoped but still had a good time. Brought my new camera and had fun with that. The two pictures you see in this ramble are ones I took when I was there.
Trying to think what else I've done this week other than sleep in late and be lazy. I started work yesterday with my new company. I wasn't going to start till Monday but the way their insurance works, I have to be employed 30 calendar days, and then insurance kicks in the 1st of the following month. If I start Monday, May 3rd, I wouldn't get my 30 until June, which means I wouldn't have insurance until July 1st. I'm paying for the COBRA insurance to make sure I have insurance and to make sure the ex-wife has insurance until the divorce is finalized which should be June 5th if the judge hurries up and signs off on the damn paperwork. Figure I would start a day early and save myself the $500 a month in COBRA insurance. Better to spend $500 once instead of twice. Frustrated enough about the one month of it.
What else is there? Hmmm..... Hmmmmm......
Was just chatting with Makya, newest member of the Forum, and I blanked out on what else I was going to ramble about. Oh well. Chatting it up with her was good to do. Got to know her a little better. So far she's been welcomed to the forums. Newbies usually get shit on. She's the exception.
