REDESIGN OF MTW -- Recap and request for more.

First off, thanks for all the tips and suggestions. I want to make MTW as much of MY site as it is yours. Too a degree of course.

This is what I got so far from all of you:

--The header file with the links at the top is going to be redesigned and will be more compact anyways. But Chump's note is taken well into mind.

--I'm currently testing the Submit a Question being open to anyone and everyone. I think I might lock it back down but allow more people to be on the team of researchers to get a wider array of answers.

--Choice of the colors for the site are staying.

--Making sure site is easily viewable at 800x600.


See anything on the site you think just sucks and I should toss out?
See anything you like on the site and wish there was more of?

The Submit a Question section. People that ask questions should be able to respond in that topic. Makes no sense otherwise...

I say just open it up to the public .. why have just a select few be able to post in there?

It's been open to the public to respond for a few weeks now after it was previously suggested to Morty.

He's trying it on for size to see how it goes.

The questioner should be able to reply to the answer I think. I enjoyed being able to add my two cents worth. Perhaps a question could be either an open question or directed to one particular person. The former should be open but the second, restricted. For a fun site, I think you do very well, I'm glad to be part of it.

Haven't figured out how to make so the person that asked the question can reply without allowing everyone to be able to reply.

And the reason I locked it back down again is due to the fact it turned into another OFF TOPIC thread.

Maybe I'll just add more people to the list of people that can reply. Maybe The Chump

One way to do this would be to have two question sections--one for anyone to reply to and the other with your restricted list only able to reply. Questions directed to one particular person, can be directed through the 'private mail' option.

I thought of that, but it still doesn't fix the chit chat going back and forth.

Submit a Question isn't designed to be 100% fun. Believe it or not. Its actually to get help on things even though the Researchers do have fun bashing people sometimes.

And if anyone else feels they want to answer it, they can then PM that person.

Back to the point of this thread. Any OTHER ideas for the site?

What about being able to upload sound files or small video clips?
Small file sizes of course.

Haven't put much thought into WAVs. But as for video, you can currently do that in your Member's Image Storage. Just can't upload WAVs.

I'll keep that in mind. Maybe make a section of WAV files on the site that are all user contributed. Have 2 boxes. FileName & Description.

I'll think a little more about that. Would be bitchin if I can manage to make MTW and EVERYTHING AND MORE type site. Just shitloads of everything out there on the net.

But I'm guessing you're talking as for the forum area correct?
