Thoughts on new forum...

While I'm sure Morty is still hard at work on the update, I figured I'd start a thread with an idea or two that came across my mind while looking this over, and maybe encourage others to add some ideas. Maybe we'll think of something our twisted leader hasn't, or re-enforce something he was already planning!

First and foremost, if you don't plan to set up a home page like before (with the recent post tables) I would personally love to see the word games and such not show up in new post. It kind of smothers out all the other, more content related post in my opinion. To be completely honest I've stopped posting the last few days almost entirely due to the fact I had to shift through a bunch of these types of post to see anything. (10 out of 20 post in the first page were these types)

We had talked about this in a previous post, but just want to throw it out there again. Condensing the forums into less categories seems like an even better idea now than before. It'll also help to make the site look more active and hopefully entice more participation. Just an idea, it may be possible to lower categories and still maintain some level of knowledge of what post contain by requiring post icons and then maybe including a list of what each icon means on the post new topic page? I.E. looking something like:
NSFW, Ramble, Joke

Last thing I can think of would be a different icon representing an unread post, I might be completely alone, or it's just cause I'm not used to it, but for some reason I don't immediately differentiate between read post and unread.

Just a few things I've been thinking, odds are you're planning to do one or two of those anyway, so hopefully this post just confirmed what you were already planning!

Well not wanting to speak for the boss but I think he's pretty much on board with the removing/condensing sections..just wanted to hang on until all the upgrades and tweaks are done before doing any "spring cleaning".

On a personal note I haven't posted much as, right now, it's just too difficult for me to read...everything is too damn bright like the quick reply box and all the grey/white bits against the black really pulls and hurts my eyes..but again I assume that's something that Morty will be working on so I'm just waiting with baited breath to see how it all ends up.

Yep. Getting my ass handed to me on this latest version. They completely redesigned the method in which you tweak settings and I am so fucking lost. It's just killing me.

I'm hoping part of my problem isn't just me but bugs in the script and the update they mentioned coming out any day now (suppose to be yesterday) will fix this up for me and get me going down a better path.

Yeah good luck! Place is looking great so far.. And what I miss the most and It's not a site issue but the MTW shows were great but yeah I know everyone is busy now and morty has a little one now. Good Luck! Thanks for making it a better place! and crazier....

Just want to say that today it looks like a completely new forum! (And from what I've seen I'm a fan so far).

Again, I started this thread with full faith that Morty was doing his thing, I just know how staring at the screen for so long trying to make a few things work you sometimes go a little crazy, if nothing else a thread to talk it all out on (and wish you luck!) can be a good thing.

Thanks. Just keep dropping the tips in here. Once I work out a few more things I'll actually start a thread for people to post issues in, but for now this one works until I'm actually read for that.
