p2p file sharing software
I have not been online in some time and a lot has changed. I was trying to find a program that lets you download movies and music without having to pay for it. I tried all the ones that used to be free like kazaa, winmx, limewire, ect... I even bought some crap called iMesh and it sucks. You can only get music, not movies. I got hosed. Lemme have some good news

.. and there are a million sites on the net with torrents. (isohunt, piratebay etc)
Personally I use Rapidshare and Rapidshare websites to get anything and everything that I want..only thing is that it's not free in the first instance but if you take the time to upload and share stuff yourself you earn points and can "cash" them in for a free month every time you make 10000 points.
Currently I haven't paid for my account in over a year and have 30000 points in reserve for another 3 free months...but I guess it comes down to time and if you don't have the time to put in then torrents, as Chump said, is the way to go.

yea torrents is good I like it. I was asking about the VLC media player because I wanted to make sure it was reliable before I downloaded it since windows media player wouldn't play files downloaded from torrents. I took the risk anyway and it worked out okay. Thanks for the info.

I use VLC player for pretty much everything,(other than music which I use Quintessential for), and it's brilliant as it'll play pretty much anything.

Quintessential plays movies too now I believe. I love that prog for music though.
