so why not just use your almighty electrician powers and install a Leviton 5280-W Decora Duplex Surge Suppressor Receptacle



and then just use a short power cable?

Well, I wanted a better surge supressor, and also wanted to have more than 2 outlets available to plug into. I could have put 2 of those, but due to the framing in this particular area, I was short on space as it is due to this being the same wall that the air conditioning over-flow condensate drain pipes run down inside, and the framing members.

But I'll have to remember those outlets for any other needs elsewhere in the house.

That's definetly on the "to-do" list. Just gotta put my money into other things around the house at the moment. But I really do want to get on that. I know in the long run it will clearly pay for itself.
