Thread: (Poll #69) - Inauguration?

    Question (Poll #69) - Inauguration?

Simple yes or no question this one.

I was pretty damn amazed to hear that the Inauguration of the new lord almighty...sorry I meant President Obama is going to cost in the region of $150-$170 million dollars....

So the economy is in the toilet, people can't afford to keep their homes, businesses are going..well out of business and the first step in "fixing" all of this is to piss $170 million up against the wall? That helps how exactly?

The question is simple, in the current economic climate, given that Democrats said George W Bush shouldn't have an Inauguration 4 years ago as it was too expensive, can the cost really be justified for Obama's Inauguration?

Not to be a racial dick, but the black part of him is going to run with the "I deserve this" and spend all kinds of money he shouldn't.

Is this the "Change" he's been talking about?

Today is the beginning of the end.

What pisses me off is everyone is ssoo damned excited for him to be president. Why? Cause it is history the first black man. Whatever I dont give a fuck the color [and no one else should either] I wanna know WTF he can do for America. I agree the race card will know be played big time. When they just want equal rights !!!

I am not racist either but I can also see it coming and its gonna suck..
Here in El Paso they thing he is going to come and like single handedly rip out the fence along the border or something..

    but whatever time will tell

    He's only half black.

Only real thing is annoying me is how he's being portrayed as some damn Messiah figure, and the fact that no-one seems to be able to tell you what his policies are. All I keep hearing is "Change" and "Yes we can!" from people that are asked, it's like they've all been brainwashed.

I suppose only time will tell how good or bad he's going to be for the US and the world.

    Re: (Poll #69) - Inauguration?

Ahem... For the record, the majority of the innauguration was paid for by donnations, most of that from people. (As opposed to the typical fashion of having major corporations and extremely wealthy pay for the whole thing) Love it or leave it those are the facts.

Have to love the numbers though, over a million at the innauguration, and as best to my knowledge, not a single arrest. 8 Years ago they threw eggs at Bush, 4 years ago tear gas was used.

Sometimes it isn't just the politician that matters, but the support he gets from the people. The differance between Bush and Obama, if Bush were to have said "Get out and volunteer, help make the world better" few would have listened, Obama can say the same thing and many more will respond. Of course the real differance is Bush came out and when the country was possibly the most united and willing to sacrifice it has been since Pearl Harbor and told the country to "shop."

He's not perfect, but even if I hadn't been an Obama supporter I would of voted for him in protest of McCain's call for the taxation of employer health care to help others pay for healthcare (something even many conservatives admitted would likely make more people unable to afford insurance and provide little to no assistance to those it was supposed to help.)

I've also come to the deciscion that most of the world will never be happy with what America does; We elect a retard and you say it's because we're all retards, we elect an extremely intelligent, charasmastic man who thinks tourture is a bad thing, and much of the world claims its just a novelty. Palin was a novelty, and was rejected outright. (As she should have been)
