I just click the quote button and that works fine for me.

but any of the code that is in [] can just be typed..such as [img] for images and [b] for bold as long as you remember to put the same with a / at the end..if you see what I mean.

Same for any of the smilies as well you don't have to load them up if you know ones you like to use, for example if you type..
