    Thumbs up Fringe

So this is the new show from LOST Creator JJ Abrams and so far only the pilot episode has aired and it was also mentioned by Morty in last weeks MTW Show.

    "Fringe" (200

So as I have no idea when we'll ever get it on UK screens I downloaded the pilot and only just around to watching it tonight....and, well, ummmm.....it was OK I guess but I think it's gonna have to improve a lot to keep me watching to be perfectly honest.

While watching the pilot episode there was 3 things kinda distracting me and first and foremost was the music. I mean if you watch LOST at all the music was almost identical, particularly when it was heading to an ad break, it was almost as if they'd just used the same music because they couldn't be arsed to record any new music for this show.

Second thing was I just kept expecting them to call Fox Mulder in to sort everything out...I know that it's maybe unfair to compare it to the X-Files, but come on...paranormal activities, strange viruses, people inside secret organisations pulling everyone's strings and an FBI agent to investigate it....where have I heard that before? All we need now is Cancer Man to step out of the shadows and the rip-off is complete...maybe that's unfair and it will develop it's own identity as it goes on, or at least until Fox decide to pull the plug as seems to be the way with most US shows after about half a dozen episodes these days.

And the third thing was that the crazy doctor dude, Dr. Walter Bishop, was played by John Noble who played a character called Anatoly Markov in Season Six of 24 and got his finger cut off by Jack Bauer with a cigar cutter and every time he was on screen that's all I could think of...

So I'm still gonna stick with this a while and see how it goes, as it's a little unfair to judge it after just one episode, but for me at least the jury is still well and truly out.

What's your opinions if you watched it??

I think that it has potential, but has far to go to be great. And I thought it was a cross between x-files and invasion (which was cancelled after 2 seasons)

Well I just got done watching the second episode and I think it was better than the pilot. In typical LOST fashion though it threw up questions, which I guess is to be expected from JJ Abrams.

I also just read that the pilot episode apparently cost Fox somewhere in the region of $10 Million to make and only drew in just over 8 million viewers when they were hoping for around 19 Million so my guess would be that if it doesn't pick up it could well get axed....guess we'll have to wait and see.

My guess we just won't be seeing any more big explosions is all. That explosion scene was probably half their budget on Episode 1.

As for Episode 2 which I watched last night, it was much better. Not great, but much better. I'm on for a 3rd episode but still not 110% sure if I'm sold on it yet.

Think it be easier to watch if the dude wasn't from Dawson's Creak. I can't get past his character and waiting for him to have some drama over one of the girls.
(Ya, I know. Morty watched Dawson's Creek? The x-wife watched my shows and I agreed to watch hers. Cause of divorce? Who knows.)

Second episode definately better than the first. But, as much as I love sarcasm (and I'm not saying that sarcasticly) if the son, can't remember his name, stays so sarcastic, I'm gonna punch him

He obviously is believing some of it or he wouldn't let his pops keep it up and assist as well.

And, the job offer, did she really take it and is now one of the bad guys pretending to be good??

Yes, a bad guy is pretending to be good.

But I don't think the Agent took the job. Do think she stays "friendly" with that company though. Being that company ran with all of the doctors ideas and plans, I think the Agent chicky will continue to need go back to Massive and ask for more equipment to do other experiments and so forth. Basically because anything the Doc needs for researching or understanding any of these issues the company had to make to do their own research when they created the problems in the first place.

Hopefully these episodes increase in quality.

I think episode #1 would have done better if they didn't let anyone know that Dawson creek guy was starring in the show. I know it made me think twice about giving the show I try.
