Who Or What Is It : Rules For Round Two

First of all round Two of the "Who or What?" picture puzzles will start on Wednesday 6th August 2008. The second round of the puzzles will run for 3 months until Thursday 6th November 2008 or until the nearest puzzle to that date is guessed.

For those not familiar with how it works here's a quick summary....

A covered up picture will be posted.

The picture will be of either an MTW member, a Famous Celebrity or an item. An item can be anything from a Movie Poster, to a household item to a magnified image.

Squares will be removed each day revealing parts of the picture.



Any registered MTW member can reply in the thread guessing at who or what they think is hidden.

YOU CAN GUESS AS MANY TIMES AS YOU LIKE ONLY NOT IN SUCCESSION, THERE MUST BE AT LEAST ONE OTHER GUESS MADE BEFORE YOU CAN GUESS AGAIN.

In other words, if Purple Dragon guesses, she can't guess and guess and guess again, she could guess, then hntbarbie could guess, then Purple Dragon would be free to guess again.

The first person to correctly guess who or what it is will be awarded 5 points.

Anyone who guesses more than once in succession will be docked 3 points.

In each puzzle I will post and update the list of incorrect guesses.

It will appear in the first post of each game like so.....



If you then make a guess of someone or something that has previously been guessed and put in the list as an incorrect guess, (which means that you didn't read the list and are therefore wasting my time in doing it in order to help you), then you will lose 1 point from your points total each time that you do it.

So pay attention to what has been guessed before you!

If no-one has guessed correctly after 24 hours then more sections of the picture will be revealed...



And this will continue daily until someone guesses correctly like so...







A points table will be posted showing the current standings.

*** Prize Puzzles ***

Every so often one of the puzzles will be a prize puzzle. It's exactly the same as an ordinary puzzle in so much as you guess as usual and the first person with the correct answer gets a spot prize for it. It won't be an expensive prize necessarily and probably along the lines of an MTW Fridge Magnet or similar, (obviously I won't keep sending fridge magnets if the same person keeps winning it'll vary otherwise they'd have a shitload of MTW fridge magnets).

Then every now and then there will be a shareapic treasure hunt picture prize puzzle which will involve searching through the shareapic account to find the correct picture. The rules for how these puzzles will work can be found by clicking HERE.

So that's the 3 different types of puzzle....normal....prize and shareapic treasure hunt prize.

I'll always state which kind of puzzle it is in the topic heading and in the first post of the particular thread.

***** New For Round Two *****

This time around to make it just that much more difficult I have made the squares smaller still which will allow me to reveal parts of faces etc without necessarily giving away who or what it is.

With this in mind 10 squares will be removed each day until the puzzle is guessed...let's see people guess them straight away from now on.

There will also be a bonus picture puzzle that will run alongside each of the regular puzzles. The bonus puzzle will start off with 50 points on offer but only 3 squares removed initially and then only 1 square a day after that and each tim a square is removed the points on offer will drop by 1.

All will become clear once I get that one posted.

Who Or What Is It : Rules For Round Two

The whole "rules for round two" part indicates that this thread is not actually a puzzle, but is in fact "the rules for round two!"

When it's a puzzle it will say... "Who or What Is It? - Picture #51"

Here's the really clever part.....the number will change each time a new picture is posted, so after #51 it'll be #52 and after that #53 and so on.

And here was you saying that you actually read everything....

I hope people do, however, read this post as the rules have altered ever so slightly with effect from tomorrow when the first puzzle gets posted.
