Great question about circuits!!!?? - Yahoo! Answers

    ANSWER:
    B1 and b 2 in series - forming group 1
b3 and b4 in series- forming group 2
group 1 in parallel with group 2

I've gotta go teach electrical actually right now so don't have time to work this out, but I'll play with actual numbers and get back to this. Not positive yet if there was ever truely enough information in the original question.

    Re: Electricity Problem

So I bashed my brain a bit on this and the question is in error. There isn't enough information if such an event could occur. Unless I'm totally F'd, and please share the teacher's answer please, but there is no way that #3 and #4 would get DIMMER if any other lamps were REMOVED. If they were affected at all, it would mean they are wired in series. But, if they were wired in series with #1, then no power could continue onward through the circuit one #1 is removed, thus #3 and #4 would turn OFF.

The only way #2 could possibly get BRIGHTER is if it were in parallel somehow with #1, but if that were the case, #3 & #4 would have to be wired further down the circuit of #1 and #2 and they wouldn't technically change brightness at all.

The question is fucked. Please share your teacher's answer to the question. I'm curious if I'm missing the obvious here or something.

Off the top of my head maybe this is it..

vdrop across lamp 2 then vdrop across 3 & 4 in parallel

but I'm tired and I'm not getting paid close to $30/hour to do this ...

    either way

I figured the same, but I'm not getting the 2/3's when I do my math. I talked to Scav. He's going to try and get the answer for us.
