Fooking Mosquitoes and a Silence

I bloody hate them. Its not even June yet and ive been biten on my arms and feet all week. We got nice weather here, nearly 28/29c for the past 2/3 weeks now, but i cant stand sitting here scratching my arms all the time My hubby is currently running around the room 'clapping' them in his hands to kill them he kills one and another appears, its endless fun to watch! Now we also have the air con on full blast as that helps to get rid of the quicker, so im currently freezing my ass off typing this.


In other news about the current situation in China, today started the first day of a 3 day memorial for the Earthquake victims. Every day for 3 days, at 2.28pm (thats when the quake happened last week) sirens and horns will sound for 3 minutes for a silence and everyone stops what they are doing and flags at half mast. Theres no entertainment for these 3 days. No tv programmes (it dont effect me anyway) only news about the quake, no clubs open, cafes will play no music, no karaoke bars open either. Not sure how this helps but being here watching this, its quite an experience. The footage ive seen so far today, has really pulled my heart strings. Im sure u have seen the amount of devastation in news or pictures, but being in the same country and near it, it feels so much close to home and i actually feel lucky that it didnt happen here in Shanghai.

Confirmed dead is up to now 34,073 and expected to rise to 50,000

Also they are saying that most of the dead are children as nearly all the schools crumbled but buildings surrounding them didnt collapse so much. Im not surprised. Theres a lot of buildings here that i see that are not even fit to walk into, let alone live and make a living out of.

My husband told me today, he donated 500RMB to the quake fund which is about 30pounds. Never in 5 years ive been with him, seen him give to charity. I hope maybe some of you can donate in some way if you see a charity box around.
