Hollywood actor Heath Ledger has been found dead in his New York apartment, according to police, who say it was possibly drugs related.

A police spokesman said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the apartment that is believed to be his home.

The housekeeper went to tell Ledger the masseuse had arrived and found him dead.

The 28-year-old Australian-born actor received an Oscar nomination for the hit film Brokeback Mountain.

Sky's entertainment correspondent Matt Smith said: \"We don't know what has happened here yet - whether it was accidental or not.

\"He was not someone who troubled the headlines - he and his partner kept out of the limelight.\"

NEW YORK - Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday in a Manhattan apartment in a possible drug-related death, police said. He was 28.

According to the New York Times, Ledger was found naked and unconscious with pills strewn all around him in an apartment owned by actress Mary-Kate Olsen.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the apartment. The housekeeper, who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there, found him unconscious at approximately 3:30 p.m. ET, according to the New York Times. After receiving no response from the actor after shaking him, they called authorities.
“We are investigating the possibility of an overdose,” Browne said. “There were pills within the vicinity of the bed.”

I heard they were considering an older, overweight guy from Montana to play cowboy and bugger Jake Gyllenhaal in the sequel.

This may make his role as the joker even creepier now.

From what some people are saying, the buz is that he did an amazing job in that role too, be a shame if he went right before the role that would of made him popular with everyone (and not just those who like gay cowboys).

Its still sad none the less because its like your freakin rich and famous take your ass and get some help suicide is the answer to all these damn actors/actress...They got all this money...Everyone likes them...He even had a daughter so that makes it so much nicer if he did commit suicide his family is saying he didn't we will find out.
