I know I haven't been able to pay as much attention to MTW lately but I do look in and all I seem to see lately is posted music videos. I fail to see how that is related to being something funny but maybe I missed something.

My cousin came by to visit me last night and I was telling him about MTW and how disfunctional we are so he asked to see it.........well I pull up MTW on the computer and he says exactly what I was thinking..........

"Oh, so it is mostly music huh!"

Maybe it would be better if the videos sort of stay out of the main focus so as not to confuse people as to what type of site MTW is.......

or as usual, I have missed the boat and there is a reason for them to be on here.

Some other drunks put music on and then some sober people did also, but it is still supposed to be a humor site...got it Mutt?

As scary as this sounds...Irondog echoed my exact sentiments. As I said to Morty, I fully understand from a search engine indexing point of view how having the music videos could help MTW with traffic, but we aren't a music site, (a point I also covered in my last podcast), so I'm sure I'm not speaking out of turn when I answer for Morty by telling you what he told me, and if he wants to expand on his answer further then I'm sure he will.

Anyways, here's what he told me....

The music section was a question by Recluse to me asking if we had a "Music" section. And I thought to myself, its about time I put one up. Noticed people adding misc music things the last few weeks and thought it was about time. Especially with my current ideas in my head of what I want to try and bring to the forefront very soon. So the section was created, Recluse posted a bunch of vids, and it seems like Jeremy (Jezza) loved the idea too, cuz he jumped in it also.

Yes, MTW is a humor, site, but its evolving I think into more than that. With humor as the backbone, regardless of the additional content.

So there you go...I saw it as a section rewarding ReclusE for not coming around for about 10 months and then kicking off an argument when he did reappear, but apparently that wasn't it at all....but I do see both sides, I mean this place is evolving in to more than just a humour site, but with pretty much only music videos being posted it's easy to see why people would think it's a music site.

Well as an active member when I hit new posts I hate that all I see is all the fucking videos posted.


Now don't get me wrong............I really did enjoy watching Lita Ford and Ozzy..............it brought back memories of my younger years but it just seems to me that it should be in a section that doesn't over run the main focus of the site

I thought it might be nice if you could select to mark all posts for one specific thread as being read. I know you can do it for all posts but not just one thread I thought. Because I am not interested in watching music videos, but I know some people like it. I would just like to be able to mark them as read so they go away from the new posts.

You can do this.

Just go to the section, in this case Music Videos, click on the bit that says "Forum Tools" and you'll get a drop down menu, then click on the option that says "mark this forum read" and it will mark all posts in that particular forum only as read and they won't show up in your new posts.

I do this all the time for music videos and the word games so all that shows up is actual posts that have some point or meaning and aren't a waste of time.
