MTW BOOK - 10 YR ANNIVERSARY

October 1998, I purchased the domain name of MortysTwistedWorld.com. To give a quick summary, I used to email jokes to 100's of people on a daily basis before I had the website. And those hundred's of people forwarded those jokes to 1000's of people. It was huge. One day I came up with the idea of a "Virtual Moon". Basically an image of me mooning you virtually via the web. You'd pass it to friends and "Virtually Moon" them. It was a hit. 1000's and 1000's of people were mooning friends all over the world. Traffic was insane and all I had was one crappy freebie webpage with my internet provider. Traffic was so huge my provider sent me a HUGE bill to match it due to the bandwidth. Right there I looked into the cost of owning my own real website with a real domain name for it. Thus MTW got started. And has slowly expanded over the years into what it is today.

Well, next year it will be 10 years that MTW has been on the web. Crazy how long ago that felt, yet not very long at all.

So for the 10 year anniversary, I'm going to put out an inexpensive book. And its not going to cost me anything to actually make these books other than my time.

Here's where you come in.........

I want this book to be all about MTW. I'm going to have my own bio in the book and talk about the life of MTW and how it got to where it is today, but I want all of you in it too!

I'd like people to type up their own Bio's and their experience here on MTW. Summarize their life and how they found MTW. Maybe how MTW has affected their life, etc.

I'll post again with certain highlights I want you to "hit" in what you talk about in your addition to the book. But essentially I want you all to write your own piece about yourself and MTW.

I plan to put jokes, hilarious rambles, mention some pranks maybe, and try and get a little bit of all the great things about MTW into this book.

I was going to make it JUST a humor book, but being the 10 year anniversary of MTW, I think its important to make all of you a part of it too. If its a success, then maybe for 2009 I'll create a humor book.

So for starters, who is willing to participate with the book? Even those of you that are very new to MTW and feel you aren't really "a part" of the site yet, you will be soon enough and by joining in on this event, this is an even better reason to participate. What better way to become part of the family than to get your punk ass into the 10 Year Anniversary book?

Sure, I'm starting this just less than a year in advance, but time flies, people get busy, and if we set due dates for things to be turned in, I think we'll be able to make this book actually happen.

I know I'm asking for a miracle here, but let's try and stay focused with this thread. I want this book to kick some serious ass!

And for those that own your very own website, send me a PM about getting your own personal advertisement for YOUR website in the book. Basically you pay for the adspace, and the money goes to improving MTW. Think about it. Its a pretty damn good idea I think! Everyone that purchases a book will see your advertisement permanently and everytime they let a friend look at the book, they'll see it too!

Of course I'm in, and I think it's an awesome idea...I just wish I could remember how I ever found the place, I mean I remember how I got involved, why I stuck around and I generally have a good memory for things...but I can't for the life of me think how I ever found the site.
