It sucks, but at the same time, if it wakes people the fuck up, it could be a good thing.

kinda funny how it is cheaper to get caught talking on the cell phone than driving in the car pool lane

Down in L.A. and in the Valley the carpool lane is a big issue..

Dont know why it goes slower than the regualar lanes..You always got Fred and Ethel whom neither can see over the wheel goin 45 ... Or you got the Martinez family with 16 people in a four seater tryin to act like nothings wrong and the poor car just cant get over 40...EVERYtime I go to L.A. this is what I deal with if I try and get in the carpool lane !!!!

I think it is a really good thing, there is nothing that pisses me off more than someone talking on their cell phone and driving. I never do it either. I usually give the thing to my daughter and she answers it and is the go between for me and whoever is on the other end.

I think the reason for this one isn't so much to punish people that enter the carpool lane and drive for miles in it without the correct amount of passengers.

Its a safety concern and the #1 reason for most accidents in the carpool lane.

Normal traffic at rush hour can be going between 5-35 miles per hour. Carpool lane can sometimes be going twice the speed. I see it all the time, people are in the left lane, pissed at traffic, and then dart into the carpool lane to get around a group of people or get around the person infront of them. These people get clipped all the time with people hauling ass down the carpool lane.
