Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Resident Evil part 2. Also known as Apocalypse. In Part 1, there was an accident and a deadly virus was released in the secret underground research facility known as The Hive. Alice managed to survive and escape with 1 guy. But the movie ended with Alice and this guy being captured by the Umbrella Group. The corporation in charge of The Hive.

Now, in Part 2, Apocalypse, the Umbrella Corp has decided to send in a few scientists back into the Hive to see WTF happened down there. But as they opened the sealed doors to the underground facility, all the hellish, mutated creatures escaped and all hell breaks loose up on the surface, also known as Raccoon City. A city owned and ran by The Umbrella Corp.

The undead are running around killing the dead and passing the virus onto these killed people which is re-animating their dead bodies only to go and kill more people. Typical Living Dead type idea, but this movie isn't just a bunch of undead staggering around with no understanding of how and why they have become the Undead.

Upon the Umbrella Group's evacuation of its most important scientists and other employee's from the city, they release Alice from one of their research facilities. Who apparently has been a guinne pig and she is infected too but her body has only taken on the strengths of the virus and not the hellish death and flesh eating characteristics. All part of The Umbrella Corp's research of viral warfare.

A crap load of infecting of people, lots of death and blood. Some really cool scenes of infected dogs which was cool in Part 1 also. Finally the Umbrella Corp releases Nemesis. Which is what they call the mutation of the guy she originally escaped the Hive with. He's been infected and mutated into this massive beast that's part computer too apparently.

Since the city is going to all die anyways and nobody can get out do to the city wide wall/barricade, this is a good time for The Umbrella Corp to test out their latest Viral Warfare soldier. Do a bunch of testing before they nuke the city which is planned to take place at sunrise.

Nemesis goes around killing people and finally the big battle of him versus Alice. Towards the end of the movie she's fighting him even though she knows he's the man she once had feelings for. And so the fight begins and you'll just have to watch the rest to see how it ends.

But even after fighting him, her and the few uninfected people she teamed up with escape the city. And let's just say they did a nice job making a Part 3 very possible.


My overall opinion of the movie? Uhhh, it was alright. I liked part 1 better but they did do a good job with all the special effects and stuff. Scenes were full of eye candy and ending the movie with Milla Jovovich's itty bitty titties was nice.

I'd recommend seeing part 1 before seeing part 2 though. Its good to understand the entire story a little better but at the same time, its not necessary. Begining of part 2 does a nice summary.
