On Your Days Off...

I'm almost certain that every one of us here either works or attends school. The question is, what do you do on your days off? What do you do to make those days so enjoyable that you wish they would never end? Do you follow a routine? Do you just mess around and make it up as you go along?

Myself, I like to sleep until 2 or 3 in the afternoon, get up and have a salad sandwich, or failing that, a grilled cheese sandwich. After that I'll hop in the shower after turning on the CD player to Me First and The Gimme Gimmes and sing until I find myself to be clean. Usually around Track 5 (Uptown Girl) I'm ready to get out. I'll spend some time on the net, surfing through the news and bombing around here on MTW before grabbing a book and settling in to read for a few hours.

In the afternoon I'll give a call to a few of my friends and see what they're up to. Sometimes we'll head to a movie, sometimes we'll go out for drinks at a local pub, sometimes we'll play cards and bullshit all night. If there's a show playing we'll head on down that way and probably meet some new people along the way. Depends on what we feel like doing.

Once the night starts to roll along, whoever doesn't feel like packing it in will usually go for coffee at the 24-Hour restaurant downtown. I've yet to miss a chance to go out for coffee and a bite and I don't think I ever will. After coffee when everyone's gone home I'll pop back on MTW and see what's going on.

My days off don't usually differ very much, but I enjoy them all the same. Good times with good friends, some alone time to relax and read, and at the end of it all, a good night's sleep. Can't think of anything better myself.

Sleeping is good. Then i'll have a cooked breakfast (french toast, or omlette, depending what ingredients i can find). Then I'll go to the movies, or rent movies, or go shopping, or sleep some more, or a combanation. Then I do my homework, theres always some. Have tea, come on the net, and go to bed again. Sleeping is very good.

I dont get to sleep in. I take the kids to school,,then come home and if Im lucky I get to veg and watch movies all day.But thats rare,normally I have to run my friend all around town to get crap she needs...She has no car and thinks Im her taxi.I dont have the heart to tell her no.

My days off differ, due to my line of work, sometimes I only have sunday off other times I get days off during the week. But regardless even during the week I get to see my boy most days. Days off usually involve hanging out with him, taking him to the park or for walks. We usually have some project we work on and he does his best to help, it usually takes 4 or 5 times longer to get stuff done but he is happy to help.

I never have a day off due to kids- most i have is two hours in the morning- like now- until i pick up my son from special preschool. If I dont have to run errands while hes at school Im at home either on here or playing pool~ or laundry.

I surf...even if the gulf is a lake (which it is around this time a LOT), I'll go to the beach and play with my dog. My days off are spent as far away from the city as my limited cash supply will take me.

I spend my off time here, listening to music, playing with my dog or fishing. I have very simple pleasures.

Gardening...working around the house, building cars for demolition derby season, play trucks with my boy in his sandbox, go shooting...etc
