It's 11:30 and I'm wired

I was about to go to bed around 10 when from downstairs I heard a "what the fuck?!". Curious as to what the commotion was, I went downstairs to find half a dozen police cars at the end of my driveway. Worried that there was a gas leak and we were all going to die, or something of the sorts, I put on some shoes and a coat and started to go outside, but decided against it. If they were looking for someone, they could very well just shoot me, and call it a night. Instead, I called the police department to find out what was going on, and it turns out that they were chasing someone, and they cought them, and thats all they told me. I went downstairs to wait for them to go away, because something about cops waiting outside just doesn't help me get to sleep. A little later I saw some flashlight wielding figures go into my backyard through the side window. I went out the front and asked them what the hell they were doing, and they said that the guy they were chasing ran into my backyard, FELL INTO MY POOL, and they said he had a gun, and when they pulled him out, he didn't have it anymore. Well, since its just turning spring and its too cold to use the pool it was to cold to open it, so the tarp was still on it, full of shitty water. They believe the gun is in the pool. THEY THINK THE F*#(*&$ING GUN IS STILL IN MY POOL! WTF?! Needlessly to say the guy that was running from the cops was pissed and freezing, and we probably have coke-ridden piss in our pool now, which we will probably have to drain. All this after a day that I fell asleep around 5 this morning, had to wake up at 6 (I didn't), and was trying to go to sleep early tonight. I don't know what bothers me more- the fact that I will probably not get to sleep for the next few hours, the possibility of a gun in my backyard(THAT THE F*#@ING COPS LEFT THERE!), or that I live in the wierdest place in the crappiest town in the 2nd crappiest state in the 2nd best country in the world (2nd only to Amsterdam).

The gun is in the pool, waiting patiently until it can crawl onto dry land and go on a shooting spree all by itself at a local church or highschool.

Really, unless it's stainless the gun will just sit there and corrode, nothing too dangerous about that. No worse than leaving a set of steak knives in there.

As far as draining it, you just said it was full of shitty water anyway, what's a little piss going to do to it?

Guns are made of stainless steel where I come from, and I presume everywhere else as well. And I don't care that Amsterdam is a city, it's still fucking awesome. As for where I live check my location in my profile... Well I'm going to get a high powered flashlight and finish what the police started and find the gun. They said they would be over today to look for it but it's almost 3:30 and they're still not here, so apparently a live firearm outside a civilians house that has children in the neihborhood isn't a big deal, especially since we know for sure it's in the pool

Theres a simple response to your simple answer, at least in my case. I CAN'T!!!! I TRIED!!!! It seems remarkable that no one would want to buy a house in a hellhole. Even if it's a nice house in a hellhole. And there's just a little problem with moving to another place with 1 house that won't sell and no money. It seems you have to live on the street, or live in a shithole. So I could move out of the hellhole into a shithole, still own a house I don't live in, and be out at least a few hundred bucks (American)

They're on a tight budget. Police are hoping someone does find it and gives them a call and they'll come pick it up. Cops are too busy going after homeless people that sell pot and pizza on the street.
