stupid people, stupid ice

Ramble time dmm dmm du dumm (to the tune of hammer time)

So as almost none of you know I am a foster parent, and we are planning on adopting our little foster girl. So the government decides they are changing all the rules and regs and we have to go to training classes to learn about the new laws. So we go today for a 3 hour class, sitting in a room with about a hundred people who all don't want to be there. We are trucking along going through everything, we are ahead on the time so are going to get out early and suddenly a debate breaks out about getting paid more money and getting benifits to be a foster parent, I'm sitting there thinking if you want a job that bad go work at Mcdonalds at least at the end of your shift people stop yelling at you. And besides you don't do it for the fricken money you do it for the satisfaction of helping kids that need somewhere to live.

So anyways an hour later and suddenly we are behind and we end up having to stay 1/2 an hour late, all because 3 dumb women decide to voice their opinions in a public forum .............

So I get home and find out that most of the ice has finally fallen of the roof of my house , now I have to shovel up ice that has partially frozen and broken 2 patio chairs. Fricken ice, Fricken snow its October we arn't supposed to have snow yet. I can't even decorate my yard for Halloween right now. I usually set up a grave yard and wire it for sound, but now with the ice and snow that idea is shot.

Any way I coated the ice with salt so it should be slush right now, I gotta go and clean it up.

As far as being a foster parent goes, that is very cool. I guess in real life your a decent person. To bad it doesn't carry over to the web.
As far as the weather goes, sorry about you luck with the snow. We spent yesterday dragging the kids around in Tampa Bay behind tha boat on an inner tube. It was a balmy 72 degrees out side. Not hot enough to sweat and not cold enough to keep you off the beach or water.

I can honestly say that I don't miss the snow and ice. Left Montana almost 20 years ago and still don't miss the cold

I love Fosters. We have 2 different types in our neighborhood.

One is Foster's Donuts. Open 24 hours and they have some really good donuts that are always fresh and they have a nice selection too. Parking lot sucks though.

The other is Foster's Ice Cream. Oh man, nothing like a chocolate dipped soft serve ice cream cone. YummmmmmY!

But seriously, very very cool Maximal. Thanks for sharing. I can only imagine what some foster parents are like. I used to work with a guy before where he worked as an electrican and his wife worked as a Foster Parent. She treated it like a paying job. Sure, it sorta is. But he was always complaining about how he needed to add onto his house so he could be allowed more kids to make more money. Didn't quite get the whole idea of why you should be a foster parent.

So how old is your foster daughter? She old enough to even realize you're not the blood related parents?
