Gas/Petrol Prices

I needed to vent about this, as it's yet another example of America thinking the rest of the planet doesn't exist and the world is made up of them and them alone.

I visit a lot of forums and have noticed lately more and more people complaining about gas prices being so amazingly high and blah, blah, blah.

The I see lilmamma's status message on MySpace, (yes she has time to get online and visit myspace but not to swing by and see us), and her status message says...

BrittanY thinks that WE need to DO something togheter as a nation to fix these stupid ass gas prices. stop making the rich richer and helping out us reg working people!

Believe me, compared to other Countries, you have it easy in the USA, here's some comments left by members on another forum regarding gas/petrol prices where they live and all prices have been converted to US $...

In New Zealand Petrol is currently.. $1.96 NZD for 91 octane = $1.48 USD (per litre)

1 Gallon = 4.54609 Litres.

so its $1.48 USD per litre
or its $6.74 USD for a gallon

Its $3.86 a gallon Here in Pennsylvania

it is about $3.80 a gallon here in south florida and that is high and it just keeps getting higher and higher.

I'm in New Orleans and paying $3.55 a gallon, at the lowest, this blows! I just start driving this month too!

Its 48 Rupees here in INDIA that means $1.12 per litre as for today

In Sydney its approx $1.40/1.50 Aus /litre atm

Wow...almost $4 US per gallon, however do you manage to pay that without moaning about it all the time....oh wait, you don't.

Now here's the average price of petrol in the UK converted to US $ PER GALLON....ready?

Average in the UK as of the 14th of May is 112.2p per liter.
So that would be £5.10 per UK Gallon

But because our systems are slightly different, you have to change the UK gallon to the american Gallon, by multiplying by 1.20095042. which would give you £6.12 for every US Gallon. So at the current exchange rate, that would mean we in England on average are paying $11.91 per american Gallon.

it is actually $13.43 per gallon if the uk price is £1.20.

Yes, it costs, in US Dollars, $13.43 per gallon here in the UK....so please give a thought to the rest of the world before you complain that it's costing the huge, astronomical fee of $4 dollars.

Hey I hate the gas prices to but untill we can get shit mass produce that runs on something cleaner we just need to nutt it up or get a fucking bike and ride your ass to where you need to go, that would also get your ass in shape !!! two for one!! just like mc donalds!!!! $4.50 US is about £2.25 in the UK. A gallon of fuel costs around £5.20 so you pay about half what it would cost if you were in the UK.

The biggest problem here is the tax that the Government slap on top of the fuel, but we still pay more than double the amount that you do in the States which is reallllly fucked up, even moreso when you consider that the avergae yearly income in the US is waaaaay more than it is here in the UK.
