Well as an update to this, it's been all over the news on TV today about this as the Coroner's verdict was released and it was a pen top that he choked on.

They all have a hole in by law to allow breathing, but some people are now saying that they obviously aren't big enough.

Turns out that he was doing his homework when he fell off his chair and choked on the top of the pen that he was chewing at the time.

His Mother and Step-Father were out of the Country at the time too and had to wait 15 hours for a flight home to be by his bedside and he died 2 days after it happened.

Personally, I think that they should just scrap pens with removable tops and make all pens "clicky" tops...they're much more fun anyways.

WOW That is just so horrible !!!! I agree with Will.....I will never buy pens with lids anymore only clicky pens.....I could not imagine losing a child let alone losing a child to a pen top !!!!!

While I agree it's a horribl thing, I will say that when you're chewing on something you're suppose to make sure that you chew it all the way before swallowing.
