Ok for those of you who dont know...I own a few houses that were left to me when my dad died and some I have bought myself since then. Owning propert is a great thing, it never goes down in value unless you have a fire or force of nature....or bad stupid tenants, that is why you screen them.... Recently I had to prep a house to be leased, everything was freshly painted, carpets shampooed, heat and air checked, loose things tightened, locks changed and everything made sure to be in the best condition it could be. So the add went in the paper 3 bedroom,1 and a half bath Eat in kitchen with dishwasher Attached single car garage fenced yard no pets, no section 8 $30 nonrefundable fee for security and background check $1150 monthly with matching security deposit please call ************ simple english right?...do you have any idea of how many people wanted to know if I could make an exception for them and their little puppy that turnes out to be a St.Bernard? Or they are so stupid that they as (while the add is in front of them) How many bedrooms? And then you set up a date and time to show it to them and they dont show up, so you have wasted 2 to 3 hours of your own time, or they show up (like one woman did) with 6 children all unbehaved...pushing each other into windows, slamming doors, running in and out tracking mud all over and then ask if the carpets will be shampooed again...I would not even let her fill out the application. Or the rednecks who show up, pay for the security check with a check that is not woth the paper it is written on. One couple brought a dog and said it was not their pet, it belonged to their 7 year old daughter.. And the best one of all was the people who brought a uhaul and 4 friends with loaded pick up trucks and were ready to pay with a fake check and try to move in on the spot without me being able to do any kind of background check on them. I did make some money on the whole deal after I found a suitable couple to lease the home. It seems one certain old lady and her boyfriend who had looked at the house and payed for the background and credit check wer wanted by the police in two states for writing bad checks and defrauding landlords for substantial amounts of late rent and there was a $2500.00 reward for their whereabouts, so I set it up for them to come over and lok at the house again with the idea of them getting the house and signing the lease and after they pulled up and came inside, so did the police who arrested them on the spot and are issuing me a check sometime Friday....I wonder if that check will clear the bank...I should have asked for cash damnit. Ya know what?....I forgot to mention all of the idiots who could not even speak english and one guy who could not even speak, he had to write notes for everything...and I cant forget about the vice president of a local bank whose check bounced...just so many foolish people left in the world these days.

Hey those sound like a lot of my neighbors!! They've all been foreclosed on now but the neighborhood sure was colorful with them around!!

I would hate to rent my house out...I have seen the destruction some people leave behind....to me it sounds like one great big headache.

it all depends on the creening process, and by the sounds of it Tat takes his time before he rents the property out. When ever I have moved I always wash everything and patch every single nail and screw hole. I leave the place better than when I moved in
