What would you like to see on MTW v5.0.4?

What would you like to see added to the site? Here are the things that we will have.

Posts of any type (forum posts, private messages, inner emails) will have standard editing functions such as left, right, center justifications, various "quoting" features, bullets, image input. More than what we currently have as far as customizing a post.

Email via the site. You can send emails to one another via the site without having to have an email which will be good for those without email and those that are visiting somewhere and on a random PC.

Image Attachments

User Control Panel with alot more options for your own moving and using of the site.

Quick Reply for posts

Typical Smilies including Post Title Smilies

Much, much better SEARCH function. Plus I plan to build most of my other webpages via the forum so that the SEARCH function includes all those when you hunt for something.

Article Posting. Which the basic function I plan to use it for is to create a Tips & Tricks section where we can give tips to various things in both life and using PCs. And these articles can be rated and commented to.

PM's will have "read receipts" so that you know when the person has received and read your message to them or not.

I'm going to be using a different photo gallery than the one we are currently using. Basically going back to the one I had just before the current one. It integrates with this new forum very nicely.

Buddy List so you have your "buddies" on an easy access list that you can click on and also see their status on the site at the moment.

Calendar which we can all put important dates along with our birthdays and other crap like that.

Same general look of the site that we currently have. If all goes smoothly, all posts and user post counts will transfer over smoothly. All your usernames and passwords should move too.

Other than all that, nothing has really changed.

So what would you like added? I'll see what I can do.

The ability to post videos. I always get them emailed to me and would like to share some of them.

And how about an area where links to programs and such can be accessed from MTW instead of searching on the net.

The videos I'll have to sort out some things. THe big issue with that is the file size limit with FTP'n. And for the programs, you're talking about a secure area where we can all go and snag the latest version of whatever instead of making backup CDs of progs for ourselves. Kinda like have a file vault?

Umm I Think Its Pretty Damn Good Already, Personally I Find The Jokes Thing A Bit Annoying How You Get 40 Jokes In One Day And Then Have To Spend An Hour Going Through Them, Is It Possible To Do Like A Daily Post With All The Jokes Submitted That Day? And Maybe Make It So You Can't Reply To Jokes? Because It's Damn Annoying Sifting Through 2 Minutes Of Rubbish Between Jokes, It Would Be Better If It Was Like A 'Daily Summary' Of All The Jokes, And Whenever Somebody Posted A Joke It Was Added To It.

I'll have to look into that Jokes idea and probably take a vote on it. Not sure if people will keep posting jokes if nobody is going to reply to them.

As for "New Posts" there is going to be a button that you click for "Today's New Posts" which will dump out a list. So I might be able to duplicate it and configure it to the jokes only. Interesting idea though.

And I agree with Layni's boobs.

Also, I just finished installing the downloads mod to the new forum so the File Vault thing will be effective immedietly upon the new release of the forum. But to prevent my ass from getting in trouble with the US copyright laws, its going to be a select few that are allowed. Won't be the general public. As members prove themselves over time we will include them into the private group for file access.

I agree with jacobfie. I get overwhelmed by the jokes section. I think it's imprtant to have this section, but I would like a digest to make it easier to choose what to read. I have limited time to be on line and I need to be choosy so I can spent time in other areas.

The vault idea is good but I was thinking more of an area where there are links to say antivirus software, maybe with members commenting on how good it is. Free stuff verses paid etc and maybe an area on the front page with the games (word games, music games etc easily accessible, instead of having to track them down.

We'll have to see the new site before we can critic it

Jacobfie and Orin, as for reading the jokes and being overwhelmed, maybe you can just stop looking at all the responses to the jokes.

If you go to the main page of the site, on the top of the right hand column there is a list that shows all the latest jokes. Newest being at the top. The order is by creation date, not "latest reply". So for the jokes, if you wanted you can read the newest jokes and never look back at them again and disregard the Green icon at the Jokes section when in the forum.

Just an idea. I'll have to see if I can find anything like what you are talking about Jacobfie. But to be honest, it will be at the bottom of my To Do List.

It's a bit of a retarded question, but seeing as no-one else had asked it I thought I'd be today's token 'tard.

Am I to assume that the new board style will still be in the MTW colours of black and puke green??

It wouldn't be the same without that distinctive green that I've come to know and love over the years.

Yep. The site really isn't change the look at all. Same left hand column, same shit at the top. Its just the options and clickable things and adjustments will be different is all.

For those people that don't visit the forums, they probably won't even really notice the change.
