Heatsinks can be a bitch... I guess intel has to make thiers run cooler because that's what's in Dell's, and since that is the most commercialized there are a lot of people that would be dumb enough to do that. "Gee that thing feels kinda warm... that can't be good, I'll take it off" DURR. But 38c?! I wish I could get mine to run that cool... I'm not even (able to) overclock it and it's running 45 idle.

Tom of THG is a total Intel fanboy...most of the original socket A boards did not support the thermal shutoff for the AMD processor... It was a FIXED competition... MD

AMD kicks ass. Intel is overpriced and underperforms in comparison.

I haven't had any problems with my Intel P4 3.6ghz hyperthreaded processor yet.............and I never said AMD sucked. Actually, AMD has made improvements over there architecture in the last year and to their credit they beat Intel to the dual core punch. Another thing, I run Intel on my primary personal machine and web servers along with AMD in my secondary personal machine......they all run great. Preaching to this choir will get you nowhere.

I use whatever is affordable and works...I could care less about the manufacturer...
