Posting Images on MTW

This guide is intended as an alternative to using the MTW Gallery, which we would obviously prefer that you do, or if you can't or don't want to wait for an Admin to approve your picture in the MTW Gallery.

This guide will explain how to post pictures using an off site hosting website such as photobucket which I'm using for this example.

1) So...step opne is to go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign yourself up for an account.





2) So once you have signed up and confirmed your account and everything that they ask you to do, you have your very own photobucket account...yay you!! From here you log in and can begin to upload pictures.

So you need to find the picture on your hard drive that you wish to upload, and you do this by clicking on the "browse" button...



You will then get a box that allows you to browse your computer until you locate the picture that you want, which you then click on and the picture name will appear in the "file name" box and then you click on "open"....



3) You will now see on the photocucket screen that the file you selected is now shown.



If you have more than 3 pictures to upload simply click on the "add more" link and you'll get a whole load more boxes to browse and put pictures in...



4) OK, so now you're all done with hunting, you got the pictures that you want, so you simply hit the "Upload" button...



You will now see the screen tell you that it's uploading alongside a progress bar...



...and once it's done, it'll tell you it's done...



...and you'll see your picture has appeared with some boxes beneath it.....



5) Finally comes the posting it on MTW, (or any other site for that matter), you simply make your post as you normally would and when you get to the point that you wish to put your picture you simply click on the IMG Code link and it will highlight automatically and copy itself to your clipboard.



Then you simply right click and select past and the code will be pasted in to the post that you are making and will look like this.....



Then when you've done all that are are ready to make your post, hit the "Sumbit new thread" button or "post" button and your post will appear, but in the place of the code will be the picture that you uploaded.

Try it out using the Testing Grounds section of the forum and if you have any problems or anything isn't clear, don't be afraid to ask.

I just used photobucket as I already have an account on there and they're free.

I'll add some imageshack screen grabs as well for anyone that wants to use them...we used to have a direct box to image shack under the posts as per this tutorial...
