Finding Your Way Around Chat

A little guide to help you find your way around the MTW Chat Room and generally make your MTW Chatting experience that much better.

1) First things first, you're gonna want to enter the chat room. Links to various parts of MTW can be found in the banner at the top of the page, click on the one called chat.....



2) By default you will enter into the General room which should be safe for work (SFW), and this is displayed in the top left corner above the web cam screens and also in the text box in the middle of the screen......



3) If you wish to change rooms in chat, say to the 18+ Room which is probably NOT Safe For Work (NSFW), you need to click on the arrow as shown below and you will then get a drop down menu box to the left which has a list of all the available rooms in chat. You simply click on the room that you want to enter from that drop down menu.....



4) The room name above the web cams, and in the text box in the middle should now have changed top show you which room that you are in.......



5) If you want to add your own personal touch to your name in the MTW chat room, you can select and avatar (picture beside your name) to display in the room list and next to your name when you chat......



6) Directly above the text entry box there is a button marked options, and right next to that is a little box that will allow you to change the colour of your text. Simply click on the coloured box and choose any colour from the selection that appear in the pop up box (mine is set to yellow in the picture below).

To change your avatar you need to click on the "options" button.....



7) Once you click on it you will be presented with a box in the middle of your screen. From this box you need to click on the "effects" tab.......



8 ) Once you have clicked the effects tab you will have the option to select your avatars. You need to click the boxes next to "Main Chat" AND "Room List" to enable the avatars for those areas. Next you click on the arrow which will present you with a drop down menu of selectable avatars.





You then look through the list until you find an avatar that you want or like and click on it. Do the same for "Main Chat" AND "Room List". Both avatars don't have to be the same, you can select a different one for room list (the list to the right of the screen) and for main chat (the text box where the chat appears).

When you have selected the avatars that you want, click the OK button.

9) Now when you enter any text into the chat window it will display in the colour that you selected, (yellow in my example), and your avatar will appear alongside your name (union jack flag in my example), and the avatar you selected will also appear next to your name in the room list to the right......
