| Lusting Over Leelee | ![]() Movie Title: Mr. Brooks Director: Bruce A. Evans Rated: 18 (UK) R (US) Genre: Thriller Runtime: 120 Minutes Viewed: In my chair on the TV screen Trailer: Mr Brooks Trailer Synopsis: Earl Brooks (played by Academy Award winner, Kevin Costner) is a loving family man and a local business icon. But Mr. Brooks is deeply flawed and very aware of it. He is addicted to killing. Struggling with his pathology, he tries to quit, but his alter-ego, “Marshall” (played by Academy Award winner, William Hurt), has an altogether different idea. “Marshall” enjoys his “existence” and his “work.” Opinion: Well...before last night I hadn't even heard of this Movie to be perfectly honest. Then someone on a another forum was raving about it and saying great things about it, and despite the fact that it stars Kevin Costner, (and I'm not the biggest fan of his Movies), I thought I'd give it a go.....and I'm glad I did. It actually made a nice change of pace from the type of Movies dominating the release schedules lately such as Saw & Hostel and the so called "Gorn" movies. Mr. Brooks turns out to be a very clever film and once you've caught on to the fact that William Hurt is basically a part of Mr Brooks fractured psyche and no-one but Kevin Costner and the viewer can see or is aware of him, it's interesting to watch the character's relationship with himself as it develops and he tries to control the urges that come from "Marshall". It actually made a nice change to see Costner as the "bad guy" and his performance has you rooting for his character, despite the fact that he is in fact a serial killer. All the acting was first class, which with a cast like this I guess you would expect. I'm not going to give too much about the film itself away as I think it's one that needs to be watched without too much "previous knowledge" of what's to come, and just approach it as I did, not quite knowing what to expect. I will just say that it's a fast paced psychological thriller helped out by great dialogue and a good story, and Mr Brooks himself turns out to be one of the most intelligent characters since Hannibal Lecter, and just as you found yourself rooting for Lecter, so you will for Mr Brooks. Acting (Scale from 1 to 5): Story/Plot (Scale from 1 to 5): My Overall Rating (Scale from 1 to 5):

Well I could provide some links for you to download it from, it's about 700MB though and you'd have to download it in 8 files (which take about 20 minutes each depending on your connection speed), then using winrar extract them and watch it. Then again..... I'd have to explain how to do it and everything, it might be easier to wait for the DVD release, (don't know when that'll be in the US, but it'll be before the UK).
