| Your Twisted Leader | Split My Head Open
--Thought I posted this before but it must of got deleted by accident-- When I was a little kid, probably around 10, since my sister was able to walk at the time and my grandma was still alive too, I split my head open. I was over at my grandmother's house with my friend Josh. My grandma had a 3 tiered backyard yard and at the bottom yard area was a big avocado tree that Josh and I used to like to climb all over. One day we're up in the tree and there was one big branch that went almost horizontal that we were on. It was about 9 feet off the ground I'd guess. Well, my friend Josh was kind of a chubby kid. Not fat, just well fed and solid. Anyway, we're on this big branch and he reaches out, grabs this smaller branch with his hand and then leaps off the tree and lands on the ground. No problems. He's down there looking up at me and I figure I'll do the same thing. I reach out and grab that little branch that he grabbed and then I scooted off the tree. The little branch broke I had my hands on and I dropped to the ground. Feet first and my knees hit my stomach and knocked the wind out of me. We're both laughing and laughing and laughing and the entire time I haven't regained breathing from my knees hitting my gut. Still laughing then LIGHTS OUT. I blacked out and apparently split my head open on this little wall my grandpa made out of pointy chunks of broken up concrete to hold back part of the hill. Some minutes later, not sure how long, I hear my mom screaming my name and as I lift my head up from the ground, I see my friend Josh, my mom behind him, my grandma behind her, and my little sister straggling behind all of them coming down the first set of steps at the top level. And I watch them coming down to me. Weird part, that still trips me out to this very day, is that before I opened my eyes and lifted my head when I heard my moms voice, I envisioned the 4 of them running down the stairs in the exact order and placement. Josh way up front, my mom on his heels, my grandma moving a little slower behind them and my sister lagging way behind trying to figure out why everyone is running. Spacing and everything was perfect. Anyway......... Next thing I know I'm in the house on the hallway floor since that had a tile floor for easy clean up I guess. I got blood all over my face and my mom is trying frantically to wash all the blood off my face and head to figure out where the hell all the blood was coming from. I just remember a pounding sensation on my head and don't remember much more other than the freaked look my mom had on her face. Don't remember going there, but we got to the doctor's office and I'm sitting there on the bench that was folded in the upright position and I'm starting to feel better and was seeing clearly and thinking clearly again. Or as clear as I could at age 10. Doctor introduces himself, and explains to me that he's going to put some stuff on my wound that will numb it so I can't feel anything and then he has to put some stitches in. But once he numbs it, I won't feel the stitches going in so not to worry. And I took that okay. Well the dumb fuck doctor has his back to me while he's doing something in the cabinet next to me, and as he turns around he's got this fucking huge needle that must of been the size of a #2 fucking pencil. Thing was fucking huge. Like something you'd use to pump steroids into a horse. I take one good look at the needle and BOOM I'm up and out of the chair and running the hell out of the place. Almost get to the front door of the place and I think the nurse snagged me and I'm screaming with fear. Finally they calm me down and I'm trying to say something about not letting them stick that huge 10 foot by 3 foot needle into my little brain and finally the doctor gets me to understand that he's not going to put the needle in me, he's just using it to squirt the fluid onto my wound neatly. Kinda like using like a squirt gun. And he promises the needle will never touch me and my mom promises that she won't let him and she'll watch to make sure. I believe my mom and I get back up and the doctor squirts the wound, I suddenly can't feel anything from my eyes up and I feel the stitches go in but they don't hurt. I just feel my head being tugged around as he tightens them. The next day I'm talking to my friend Josh about that little branch that broke and how the hell did it hold him and not me and he just started laughing. He tells me he just placed his hand on it so he didn't bump his head on it when jumping. He didn't actually put any weight on it. I started laughing and it was all good. But for the next 7 or 8 years after that, whenever I'd go get a haircut and they would scrub my hair when shampooing it, that spot was always sensitive. And I'd always kinda laugh a little and the barber would always ask what was funny and I'd just make up something lame about the shampoo tickled my nose or something.
