I fail to see it myself. The number of posts bears no reflection on how good or bad a member of any particular forum is. To be homnest Morty could remove the post count altogether and I probably wouldn't even noticed that it had gone, that's how little I care about post counts.
The music forum that I moderate on used to actually have a section for people to post in and congratulate each other on how many posts they had made, and thereby boosting their numbers even further.

I just happened to notice I was at 999. Tripped me out! So I went ahead and made it 1000. I really don't care how many posts I have. I just have fun being here. And you are right. Quality over quanity. I post as much as I do because I like telling people I like their posts. And because I just like being a smartass. Bad habit I know. But I have fun with it.
