So with everything that has been going on you would think that I have had enough to deal with wouldn't you? Guess again!
My parents were out to visit me in June and helped dress up my backyard and meet their newest Granddaughter. This was the first time I had seen them since 2005 so it was a nice visit. Well about 2 weeks after they went back to their home in Missouri they were doing some yard work at their house when out of the blue my Dad lost all vision in his left eye. He went to the Dr. and they told him that he had a rare virus that destroys the vision in eyes and they quickly put him on some meds to help save the one eye he had left.
He seemed to be doing fine so they released him to go back home to their house in Colorado. They got home about 2 weeks ago and I talked to them at least once a week to make sure he was doing what he is suppose to and just to check up on them. I was talking to them on Saturday afternoon telling all the crap I had been dealing with at home and at the end of the conversation my Mom told me she was a little concerned with my Dad again. She told me that for 2 days he was having trouble with his right leg.....it didn't seem to want to do what his brain was asking it to do. I told her to get him into the Dr. right away because it sounded like maybe he was having a stroke.....although I am not a Dr. by any means, it just sounded like other experiences I had heard about. She said that they were going in on Tuesday to see the eye Dr. and that they would get something set up with another Dr. for that time.
I wasn't so sure that he should wait, but you know old people, they do what they want when they want. Well about 2pm Sunday I got a call from my brother telling me that they were admitting my Dad in the hospital. He didn't know much but told me that it was just a precaution and that my Mom would be going home soon aand to call her later to see if they knew more. By 8pm their time I still couldn't reach her so I called the hospital and was put through to his room and found out that he had suffered 3 to 4 strokes and that they were busy trying to get everything under control. So far they don't know the extent of the damage or what is causing them but hopefully by today they will know more.
I really need to have some good news soon....you guys are going to quit reading my posts one of these times
