No what I think killed the submit a question is what you kind of stumbled into there morty, when we went to the forum based submit a question suddenly only active members were asking questions, and the most active members were the team. *Plus it lost the comlete anonymous aspect of it all* Allowing everyone and there moms to submit without even being a member of the forum is what made it work so well.
